Terms of Service

Effective date: May 17, 2026

These are the rules for using Tenur. We have written them in plain English because we think that is the right thing to do. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

What Tenur is (and isn't)

Tenur is a documentation and organization tool for BC landlords. It helps you capture inspection reports, log evidence, and generate formatted packages for Residential Tenancy Branch proceedings.

Tenur is not legal advice. Using Tenur does not create a solicitor-client relationship. Nothing in the service or its output should be treated as legal counsel. For legal advice, consult a qualified BC lawyer or licensed paralegal.

Acceptable use

You may use Tenur only for lawful property management purposes in connection with residential tenancies. You agree not to:

  • Use Tenur to harass, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate against tenants.
  • Enter false, fabricated, or misleading information into the evidence log.
  • Attempt to circumvent or manipulate the immutable audit trail.
  • Resell, sublicense, or white-label the service without written permission.
  • Use automated scraping or bots against the Tenur platform.

Account registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately at legal@tenur.ca.

Subscription and billing

Tenur is offered on a monthly subscription. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.

  • Billing occurs on the same date each month from the day your trial ends.
  • You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellation stops future charges.
  • We do not issue refunds for the current billing period — you retain access until the period ends.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' email notice.

Free trial

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial period, you will be prompted to enter payment details to continue. If you do not subscribe, your account and data will be retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted.

Your data

You own your data. All property records, tenant information, inspection reports, and evidence you enter into Tenur belongs to you.

We store it on your behalf and use it only to provide the service. We do not claim any license to your content beyond what is necessary to operate Tenur.

You can export your data at any time from the dashboard. Upon account closure, we will delete your data within 30 days of a written request.

Limitation of liability

Tenur provides tools for documentation. We make no guarantees about the outcome of any RTB hearing, arbitration, or legal proceeding, regardless of what evidence is generated or exported through the platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by BC law, Tenur's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost rent, legal costs, or hearing outcomes.

Termination

By you

You can cancel your subscription and close your account at any time from the account settings page.

By Tenur

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or are used to harm tenants. We will give reasonable notice before termination unless the violation is severe or ongoing.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will email you at least 30 days before the new terms take effect. Continued use of Tenur after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The current version is always available at tenur.ca/terms with the effective date shown at the top.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
